Astrolgy The study of stars and their effect on human relationships and emotions, not to be confused with Astronomy, which is the study of the planets, movements and stars as a science.

ASC is an abbreviation for the "Rising Sign" Its critical - represents as much (or more) about the 'self' as the sun sign does. Some astrologers can pull out the physical appearance from the Rising Sign. It indicates how we cope with life and the mask we portray to the world.

MC or Midheaven - Indicates our careers, public status, fathers and how the world perceives us.

Another important one is the moon sign....this indicates the emotional self  (where the sun is the logical self)

Then you throw in all the remaining planets - for further clues. Figure out which planets fall in which House. Where each of the 12th houses indicate an area of life and you should have a good sketch of a person. ASC indicates the first house
